Klipspringer Trail
Situated in the Augrabies Falls National Park, this trail is of three days duration and should be considered as moderate to strenuous especially during the hotter months of the year. In fact the trail is closed from 15 October to the end of March because of the extreme heat experienced in the area. (More…)
Oorlogskloof Nature Reserve Trails
Situated 16km outside Nieuwoudt-ville and about 50km from Vanrhyns-dorp, the reserve comprises of 4,776 hectares of mountains which have been dissected by deep river gorges through which the Oorlogskloof River flows. The area has a rich and varied plant life being situated on the transition area of the Fynbos and Succulent Karoo biomes. There are two major hiking trails that have been laid out in the reserve (Rock Pigeon Hiking Trail and Rameron Pigeon Hiking Trail) plus two day walks (Leopard Trap Day Hike and Rietvlei Day Hike). Richtersveld National Park Trails
Hauntingly beautiful and seared by a blistering sun, the lava mountains and sandy plains form southern Africa’s largest mountain desert park.
There are a number of circular trails, including the Kodaspiek Trail (24km/2 day), the Lelieshoek-Oemsberg Trail (23km/3 day) and the Venstervalle Trail (42km/4 day). The park is home to a number of antelope species and carnivores such as caracal and leopard. (More…) Hiking in South Africa
