Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa. It is roughly the same size and shape as Wales, covering 20,000 square km (7,700 sq mi).
Established in 1898, it is unrivalled in the diversity of its African wildlife and a world leader in advanced environmental management.

Truly the flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of animals:
25,150 African Buffalo,
2,000 Spotted Hyenas,
Numerous other animals to be seen include African Hunting Dogs, Burchell's Zebras, Bushbucks, Eland, Giraffes, Kudus, Hippopotamus, Impalas, Nyalas, Tsessebes, Warthogs and Waterbucks.
Birds to see include Ground Hornbill, Kori Bustard, Lappet- faced Vulture, Martial Eagle, Pel’s Fishing Owl and Saddle-bill Stork.
South African National Parks runs a variety of overnight accommodation at is main rest camps. We recommend that you spend at least three nights using three different rest camps (giving you two full days in the park). Always book in advance (click on the map opposite to visit SANParks™ website).
